Add progress report to strategy

The strategies describe the path you choose to achieve the objective and goals. By periodically evaluating progress, you can make timely adjustments.

Adding progress reports to a strategy

  • Open the strategy by clicking on it.
  • Click on ‘Add report’.

  • Enter the date of the report.
  • Use the traffic light to rate the progress:
    • Green: The strategy is proceeding as planned. The agreed results are (expected to be) achieved within the set time frame.
    • Amber: The strategy is proceeding with concern, but with the right interventions (new priorities, new or adjusted actions), it is possible to get the strategy back to green.
    • Red: The strategy is not proceeding as planned. You have to make choices: do we need to adjust our plan, do we settle for less result, or do we shift the target date for the desired results?
  • Type a brief explanation with the report:
    • What are the main results from the past period?
    • How did you arrive at your judgment about the strategy (green, amber, or red)?
    • What does this judgment mean for the upcoming period? What changes do you propose?
  • The report is automatically saved, so you can complete it at a later time. The report is not yet visible to other users.
  • Click on ‘Publish’ to finalize the report.

When adding a report you can link it to a specific strategy review session. By default the team’s next strategy review session is pre-filled; you can change it if the report belongs to a later session.

Thanks to this link, you and the process owner can see exactly which reports belong to which session. On the team dashboard and on the session overview, the system shows per session how many reports have been submitted and how many are still outstanding.

Linking only works if the team administrator has scheduled the strategy review sessions. If no sessions exist, the session field does not appear on the report. For more details, see the article Scheduling action and strategy review sessions.

This link is not available on the Start subscription, because you cannot schedule sessions there.

Adding a decision

In the strategy review session, you discuss with the team the results of the strategies and make decisions to improve the plan. You can document the decisions in the reports.

  • Open the report.
  • Type the decision.
  • Click on ‘Publish’.
